The school expects students to be punctual and regular in attendance. From the earliest ages, children should learn that school is important, and that they should attend regularly unless ill.
Late arrivals, as well as absences, should be reported to the office by phone or e-mail at bmcadams @sbridgeacademy.org by 8:30 a.m.
Students should be brought to the South/West entrance of the building for drop-off and pick-up.
Young children are developing an awareness of family and do not always like to leave parents/guardians. This is a normal response and teachers understand the importance of greeting the child and quickly finding an activity so that he or she becomes involved. It is best if family members say “good-bye” quickly, after reassuring the child that they will be back later, and go on their way. If a parent needs assistance, please ask a teacher to help.
Birthday Celebrations
If you would like to provide cupcakes or similar for snack time on your child’s birthday, you may do so. Additionally, if you are having a birthday party for your child, invitations for the party are not to be distributed at school unless all students in that class are included. (or all of the same gender if inviting only girls/boys).
Contact Information
We must have a current address, telephone number and two emergency phone numbers to contact parents or a designated party for all students enrolled. Please notify the school immediately if your child’s phone number or address has changed.
Disciplinary Code
Stonebridge accepts student as lovable and capable individuals and values diversity in our staff, board and families. In the development of the whole child socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically, and morally, we strive to build character by targeting positive growth in these areas:
Acceptance Accountability Cooperation
Empathy Integrity Leadership
Perseverance Positive Attitude Resiliency
Resourcefulness Respect Tolerance
Trust
Consistent messages from their earliest years at Stonebridge guide students through the process of social maturations. Clear limits and boundaries for classroom and playground behavior are established, and the faculty consciously seeks to recognize positive behavior.
Conduct
There are several types of conduct that is not acceptable under any circumstance, will not be tolerated, and may be grounds for suspension or dismissal from school. The unacceptable student conduct includes but is not limited to the following:
· Behavior that may endanger the physical/emotional health, safety and/or welfare of another
· Bullying/harassment of other, including but not limited to physical, verbal, relational, emotional, and sexual
· Defiance, disobedience, and /or disrespect of any faculty or staff member
· Behavior that disrupts or limits the learning opportunities and enjoyment of others
In extreme cases, if the situation fails to be resolved and if it is determined that there is not a good fit between the student and the school, a student may be asked to leave.
Additional Information
Learning how to work together, be part of a group, and follow rules and directions is critical. Working with these behavior issues helps children develop social skills that enable them to be successful in school. The goal is to help children learn how to manage their own behavior, if students display unacceptable behavior, the teacher is the first to mediate, then other teacher or the Head of School. The teacher will inform families if behavior challenges persist or escalate, and families will be included in the discussion and/or informed, as consequences are determined.
E-Mail
Please provide a current e-mail address that you check regularly for all communication that will come from the school. If your e-mail address changes, please inform the front office.

Snacks
Teachers will provide snacks for your child every day.
